Agreement to terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of https://lightporch.shop (the "Site") and any purchase you make from Lightporch ("we", "us" or "our"). By accessing the Site or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your state, to place an order. Our products are offered to customers with a shipping address in the United States. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account.
Products, descriptions & pricing
- We make every effort to display products, dimensions, materials, finishes and colors accurately. Actual colors may vary slightly depending on your screen, and handmade or natural materials (such as rattan, rope or glass) can vary slightly from piece to piece.
- All prices are shown in U.S. dollars. Prices, promotions and availability may change without notice, but changes will not affect orders we have already confirmed.
- If a product is listed at an incorrect price or with incorrect information due to an error, we reserve the right to cancel any orders placed for that product and will issue a full refund.
- Sales tax is calculated at checkout where applicable.
Orders & acceptance
Your order is an offer to purchase. We accept your order when it ships, and we will send you a shipping confirmation email. We may refuse or cancel any order, for example if an item is unavailable, if there is a pricing error, if the shipping address is outside the United States, or if we suspect fraud. If we cancel an order after payment, we will refund you in full.
Payment
We accept the payment methods shown at checkout. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers over an encrypted connection. By submitting payment, you confirm that you are authorized to use the payment method and that the information you provide is accurate.
Shipping & delivery
We ship to addresses within the United States only and do not accept international orders. Processing times, delivery estimates and shipping costs are described in our Shipping Policy. Title and risk of loss pass to you when the carrier delivers your order.
Returns & refunds
Returns, refunds, exchanges and cancellations are governed by our Return & Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Installation & electrical safety
Many lighting products are designed to be hardwired to your home's electrical system. Hardwired fixtures should be installed by a qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with the National Electrical Code and your local building codes. Always turn off power at the circuit breaker before installation or maintenance, follow the included instructions, and use bulbs that do not exceed the fixture's rated wattage. We are not responsible for damage or injury resulting from improper installation, modification, or use of a product other than as intended.
Warranties & disclaimers
Products that arrive damaged or defective are covered by our Return & Refund Policy. Any additional manufacturer warranty that applies to a product will be described on its product page. Except as expressly stated, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, the Site and products are provided "as is" and we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lightporch will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site or products. Our total liability for any claim relating to a product will not exceed the amount you paid for that product. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lightporch and its owners, employees and service providers from any claims, losses or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Site or products.
Intellectual property
All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, photographs and software — is owned by or licensed to Lightporch and is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce or use our content for commercial purposes without our written permission.
Reviews & communications
If you submit reviews, comments or other content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display and reproduce it in connection with our business. You agree that your content is truthful, lawful and does not infringe anyone's rights. We may remove content at our discretion. By providing your email or phone number, you agree to receive transactional communications about your orders; marketing messages are sent only with your consent.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites or services, such as carrier tracking pages. We are not responsible for the content, policies or practices of those third parties.
Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ohio and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at support@lightporch.shop so we can try to resolve the issue informally. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Ohio, unless applicable consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
